EGYPTIAN DESERT SAFARI PROGRAMS
NOTE:  Programs beginning in Bahariya/Cairo and ending in Luxor can be done in the reverse order.

    PROGRAM #1:  Bahariya, White Desert, Bahariya, Cairo
                         3 days, 2 nights  (1 night hotel, 1 night desert camping)
     Day 1:     Private transfer from Cairo to Bahariya.  Local tour.  Overnight Bedouin Castle.
      Day 2:     Black Desert, Crystal Mountain, Agabat, Flower Desert, Roman Springs, Tent Valley.  Overnight: desert 
        camping in the White or Western Desert.  Option:  Hot air balloon flight over Black Desert (instead of 4 x 4).
      Day 3:     Lunch in Bahariya.  Private transfer to Cairo.

    PROGRAM #2:  Bahariya, White Desert, Western Desert, Bahariya, Cairo
                         4 days, 3 nights  (2 nights hotel, 1 night desert camping)
     Day 1:     Private transfer from Cairo to Bahariya.  Local tour.  Overnight Bedouin Castle.
      Day 2:     Black Desert, Agabat, Flower Desert, Roman Springs, Tent Valley.  Overnight: desert camping in the White
        or Western Desert.  Option:  Hot air balloon flight over Black Desert (instead of 4 x 4).
      Day 3:     Western Desert, Crystal Mountain, Bahariya.  Overnight: Bedouin Castle.
      Day 4:     Antiquities tour, Bahariya.  Private transfer to Cairo.

     Day 2:    Black Desert, Crystal Mountain, Agabat: Transfer to camels Roman Springs, Flower Desert: Overnight  
                    Roman Springs (Ain Hadra).
     Day 3:    Camels: Acacia tree, tent valley, White Desert.  Camping: White Desert.
     Day 4:    4x4 to Western Desert tour.  Overnight Bahariya, Bedouin Castle hotel. 
     Day 5:    Antiquities tour Bahariya.  Lunch.  Private transfer to Luxor.

                        5 days, 4 nights  (3 nights hotels, 1 night desert camping)

     Day 2:    Black Desert, Crystal Mountain, Agabat, Roman Springs, Flower Desert, Tent Valley, Old and New White

     Day 3:    Great Sand Sea, Deir el-Hagar temple, Dakhla Qasr.  Overnight: Bedawiya Hotel, Dakhla.
     Day 4:    Beshendi and Belat: Dakhla oasis.  Bagawat (Kharga Coptic necropolis).  Overnight: Kharga oasis Hotel.
     Day 5:    Hibis temple (Kharga oasis) and possibly Qasr Ghueita.  Private transfer to Luxor.

PROGRAM #5:  Bahariya, White Desert, Dakhla, Umm Dabadib, Lebekha, Camel, Luxor
                        6 days, 5 nights  (3 nights hotels, 1 night desert camping)
     Day 1:    Private transfer from Cairo to Bahariya.  Local oasis tour.  Overnight: Bedouin Castle Hotel.
     Day 2:    Black Desert, Crystal Mountain, Agabat, Roman Springs, Flower Desert, Tent Valley, Old and New White
       Deserts.  Overnight: desert camping in the White Desert or Western Desert.
     Day 3:    Great Sand Sea, Deir el-Hagar temple, Dakhla Qasr.  Overnight: Bedawiya Hotel, Dakhla.
     Day 4:    Beshendi and Belat: Dakhla oasis.  Umm Dabadib (deep desert).  Overnight camping
     Day 5:    Camels over desert mountain passes to Lebekha.  Swimming pool and camping at Lebekha.
     Day 6:    Kharga, Bagawat, Hibis.  Private transfer to Luxor.


    PROGRAM #6:  White Desert, Bahariya, Siwa, Cairo
                         5 days, 4 nights (3 nights hotels, 1 night desert camping)
     Day 1:    Leave Cairo 7 am to Bahariya.  Lunch at the Bedouin Castle.  Black Desert, Agabat, White Desert. 
       Overnight desert camping.
     Day 2:    Western Desert, Crystal Mountain, Bahariya oasis.  Overnight: Bedouin Castle Hotel.
     Day 3:    Siwa oasis via the Sitra and Nuwmaisa oases on the old caravan route.  Check out the Siwa Shali. 
        Overnight: Shali Lodge, Siwa.
     Day 4:    Gebel Mout (ancient Egyptian necropolis), Amun temple of the Oracle, Nectanebo’s Amun temple, 
      Cleopatra Springs.  Off road to Bir Wahed in the afternoon.  Overnight: Shali Lodge, Siwa.
     Day 5:     Lunch, Marsa Matrouh.  Al Alamein War museum and Cemetary.  Drop off at Cairo hotel.
                    Option A (Day 1): Add extra night to the tour and spend the first night at the Bedouin Castle in Bahariya.
                    Option B (Day 5):  Drive from Marsa Matrouh to Alexandria.  Add extra night and overnight in Alexandria
                        hotel.  Next day tour Alexandria catacombs, Roman amphatheatre, return to Cairo.

    PROGRAM #7:  Cairo, Dashur pyramids, Meidum pyramid, Wadi Hittan, Bahariya oasis,
                               White Desert, Dakhla oasis, Kharga oasis, Luxor
                         6 days, 5 nights  (3 hotel, 2 desert camping).
     Day 1:     From Cairo head south to Snefru’s pyramids at Dashur, and then to his other pyramid at Meidum. 
       Continue through the Fayoum oasis to the Wadi Riyyan and Wadi Hittan (outdoor whale dinosaur museum). 
       Overnight: desert camping at the Wadi Hittan.
     Day 2:     Explore the Wadi Hittan and then off-road to the Bahariya oasis (half asphalt, half off-road).  Overnight:
       Bedouin Castle Hotel.
     Day 3: The Black Desert, Crystal Mountain, Agabat, Roman Springs, Tent Valley, and the Old and New White
       Deserts. Overnight: Camping in the White Desert.
                 Option A: (day 3):  Hot air balloon ride over the Black Desert (instead of driving through)
                 Option B:  Egyptologist (PhD) guide throughout trip
                Option C: (day 3):  Ancient Egyptian antiquities tour: Museum of the Golden Mummies, Tombs of
                          Bennentiu, and Zed ef-Ankh (26th Dynasty), Ain Muftella Temple (26th Dynasty) and temple of Alexander
                          the Great (330 BC). 
     Day 4:  Farafra hot springs (bring your suits), lunch at the tip of the Great Sand Sea, Temple of Deir el-Hagger.   
      Overnight: Dakhla Oasis, Bedawiya Hotel. 
     Day 5:   1000 year old Qasr (Dakhla) and the ancient Egyptian sites of Beshendi and Belat (tombs/temple in
       Dakhla). Overnight: Kharga Hotel in the Kharga oasis.
     Day 6:   4th c AD Coptic Christian cemetery (Bagawat); 6th C BC Hibis Temple (Persian/Pharaonic). Transfer to Luxor. 
                 Option D: (day 6):  Also see the ancient Egyptian temples of Qasr Ghueita and Qasr Zeyyan as well as the 
                 Roman fortress at Kyses/Dush.  Overnight: desert camping at Kyses.  Transfer to Luxor the following day.

PROGRAM #8:  Bahariya, White Desert Dakhla, Umm Dubadib (Deep Desert), Kharga, Luxor.
                        6 days, 5 nights (3 nights hotels, 2 nights desert camping).
     Day 1:  Early morning private transfer from Cairo to the Bahariya oasis / Bedouin Castle Hotel.  Lunch at the hotel and then
        a local tour of the oasis in the afternoon.  Overnight: Bedouin Castle Hotel.
     Day 2:  This day includes off-road touring through the Black Desert, Crystal Mountain, Agabat, Roman Springs, Tent
       Valley, and the Old and New White Deserts. Overnight: Camping in the White Desert.
                 Option A (day 2):  Hot air balloon ride over the Black Desert (instead of driving through)
                Option B (day 2):  Ancient Egyptian antiquities tour: Museum of the Golden Mummies, Tombs of Bennentiu,            
       and Zed ef-Ankh (26th Dynasty), Ain Muftella Temple (26th Dynasty) and temple of Alexander the Great (330 BC).

        Overnight:  Kharga Hotel.  Option C (day 5): upgrade to 5-star Pioneer Hotel
     Day 6:   South of Kharga.  Ancient Egyptian temples of Qasr Ghueita, and Qasr Zeyyan.  Ancient Roman fortress
        town of Dush.  Private transfer to Luxor.

     Day 5:     Qasr Ghueita and Qasr Zeyyan (ancient Egyptian temples).  Overnight at Kharga Hotel.
     Day 6:    4th c AD Coptic cemetery (Bagawat) and the Hibis temple.  Drive to Lebekha (Several Roman fortresses). 
        Overnight: Camping in Lebekha.
     Day 7:    Early morning start to Abydos.  On to Dendera.  Drop off at Luxor hotel

                         7 days, 6 nights (minimum 2 jeeps – Deep Desert)
     Day 1:     Cairo to Al Alamein (WWII) to Siwa oasis.  Overnight: Shali Lodge, Siwa.
     Day 2:     Gebel Mout (Pharaonic necropolis), Amun temple of the Oracle, Nectanebo Temple, Cleopatra Springs,   
       Fatnas springs, Shali.  Overnight: Shali Lodge, Siwa.
     Day 3:     Al Arag and Bahrain oases, Great Sand Sea.  Overnight: desert camping, Great Sand Sea.
     Day 4:     Great Sand Sea, Ain Della (Cambyses’ route):  Overnight: desert camping at Ain Della or El-Obayed Cave
      (Prehistoric rock art).
     Day 5:     Farafra oasis.  Hot spring bathing at Bir Sitta.  Badr’s Museum. Old and New White Desert.  Overnight:
       desert camping in the White Desert or Agabat.
     Day 6:     Crystal Mountain, Black Desert, Bahariya.  Overnight: Bedouin Castle Hotel.
     Day 7:     Local and/or ancient Egyptian antiquities tour of Bahariya.  Leave for Cairo at 3 pm.

PROGRAM #13: The Gilf Kebir – deep, deep desert exploration.  All guests must be in good health.  Minimum of three jeeps needed. This is a life time experience and filled with lots of prehistoric cave art.
